spencer makes different kinds of music depending on the circumstance - 
improvising on the drum set (HTSAHRHF, Public Dreams), writing and singing 
songs on oddly tuned guitars and normally tuned pianos (Spencer Schoening), 
or stirring up sounds with hardware (air creature, LAND ASSEMBLY) and 
software (air creature) 

spencer studied jazz at cap u, dropped out to tour and record 
extensively with said the whale, dropped out again to explore, 
and now spends most of his time neither here nor there
